At Lowdham Village Hall on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August, we are pleased to announce the return of this great traditional, local community event, which has been in existence since 1893.
The show opens to the public at 1pm. Entrance is £2.50 and children under 16 are free.
We have a fantastic programme of afternoon entertainment for all the family to include music by Nottingham Concert Band, an acrobatic display by the Dako Flying Angels, Punch and Judy, exhibitors’ marquee and a host of stalls to browse and games to play. Tea, coffee and our much-loved homemade cakes will be served throughout the afternoon and there is a licensed bar. The afternoon finishes with our traditional duck race followed by the presentation of trophies at 4.15pm.
To make the show even bigger and better, we are calling upon all amateur gardeners, bakers and crafters to exhibit in the show. Classes include home grown flowers, fruit and vegetables, home baking, preserves, handicrafts, photography and floral art. Entries cost 30p per exhibit. Whether you are a novice or more experienced there is a class for you. There are also classes specifically for children and young people up to the age of 16 which are free to enter, and all entrants win a prize.
Why not pick up a schedule and find out how you can enter.
Schedules are available from Lowdham Post Office, The Bookcase in Lowdham, Burton Joyce Post Office or can be downloaded from our website www.lowdhamhortsoc.org.uk
