On Monday the 13th of June, forty flighty doves flew into the Clifton Village Hall. Were we knitting, baking, crocheting? No! Belly dancing was the order of the evening.
After much giggling and anticipation, the fabulous, larger than life, Janet Rose (community worker), donned her jingling wrap and took to the floor and gave us a demonstration in the wonderful world of belly dancing. Then it was our turn! Janet cranked the music up, and off we went. There a few oops and ouches but eventually we all gyrated our hips and waved our arms like professionals. What a brilliant evening it was! A few creaks and groans, but, what fun!
This just one of the many activities we do. If you fancy joining us for talks, crafts, games, walks and much more, we meet on the second Monday of the month in the Clifton Village Hall. You will find a warm welcome and a lot of fun.
The phenomenal Janet Rose teaches belly dancing, drumming and speaks about body positivity! She can be contacted via When Women Gather Facebook page or LW Arts, www.lwarts.co.uk.
