Businesses across Rushcliffe have transformed their appearance on the high street and made essential improvements to their shop fronts thanks to funding available from Rushcliffe Borough Council.
Business owners have received support from the authority’s Shop Front Improvement Grant, which assists businesses to match contributions to improvements, up to the value of £5,000.
Recipients of the grant include Instep Podiatry in West Bridgford who installed new signage and Cut N Curl in East Leake who installed a new door and double-glazing.
High street business based anywhere in Rushcliffe can apply for the grant. Find out more about eligibility via the authority’s website: https://bit.ly/2tICNeu
Ash Accounting on Fairfield Street in Bingham is also among those who have benefitted from the grant where they were able to revitalise an old, damaged wall covering on the front of their building and replace it with brand new render.
Director Helen Wells said: “The money we received from the Shop Front Improvement Grant has made such a difference to the appearance of our building.
“Having recently renovated the interior of our premises this funding also enabled us to transform the exterior and make some repairs to the brickwork as well.
“Our business now has much more of an attractive and professional look and we’ve already had some compliments from passers-by!
“We would thoroughly recommend that any business considering giving their shop front a facelift to apply for the grant and the support it can provide.”
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Business and Transformation Cllr Andy Edyvean said: “It is brilliant to see another Rushcliffe business that has benefitted from this scheme.
“The impressive improvements made by Ash Accounting and numerous other businesses across the Borough demonstrate how effective this injection of funds can be for shop premises.
“The grants can assist with renovation, re-design or general improvement costs that can really regenerate shop fronts and enhance experiences for customers.”
