The Children’s Bereavement Centre is a local charity that supports children, young people and their families from Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire, affected by the death or terminal illness diagnosis of someone they love.
The charity’s services are provided free of charge to local families and their vision is for every bereaved child to access the support they need, when they need it from various locations across Nottinghamshire.
“Being located in the communities we serve is vitally important, to ensure we are as accessible as possible. A lack of access to transport should not be a barrier to receiving help. We currently support lots of families throughout Rushcliffe, mainly through one-to-one counselling in a room. Unfortunately, the room that we have been using is unavailable from July.” said Andrew Lawton-Collins, Bereavement Counsellor.
He continued: “We are really keen to hear from any businesses or organisations that can offer us a room to use one day a week (preferably on a Thursday but this can be discussed) so we can continue our important work. It doesn’t need to be a huge space, just somewhere with a table and two chairs! Wi-fi would be a bonus and access to a toilet would also be appreciated. Thank you.”
Ideally the Children’s Bereavement Centre is looking for a base in West Bridgford as they’ve found that this is the location most people in Rushcliffe find easiest to access.
