Beeston Methodist Church (BMC) is organising a major celebration on Saturday 20 June 2026 to mark the official opening of the redeveloped sanctuary at its premises on Chilwell Road in Beeston.

The Rev Andrew Checkley leads the first service in the redeveloped sanctuary at Beeston Methodist Church.
Members will welcome the public to a special event from 10am to 12noon when the church will be open for tours, exhibitions of BMC life, refreshments and music. A buffet style lunch for the congregation and invited guests will be followed by a service of celebration starting at 2pm. Among those present will be the District Chair the Rev Andy Fyall as well as representatives of the various contractors who have worked on the £2m redevelopment and supporting funding organisations.
Over the past year, a wide-ranging programme of work has been completed, including the installation of a new, insulated roof and heating system. The sanctuary space is now light, bright and welcoming and the floor has been levelled to make the church more flexible and accessible.
A newly installed audio-visual system will make it easier to stream services and other events and the distinctive pipe organ, presented to the church when it was built in 1902, has undergone a major refurbishment.
A series of concerts to celebrate the redevelopment began on 9 May when the British Methodist Choral Society presented a special event entitled Born in Song: Sing a New Beginning.
On Saturday 13 June at 7pm, Nottingham Concert Band will perform a family-friendly programme of popular film music. Tickets are available from the church office on 0115 9431164.
An organ recital to celebrate the organ refurbishment will be given by Paul Hale on Sunday 28 June at 3pm.
