Pupils and staff at a West Bridgford primary school were treated to free ice creams to celebrate the last day of term as part of a nearby housing association’s commitment to the local community.

Copyright Mike Sewell 2026 – Platform Home Ownership have provided an ice cream for each of the 515 pupils at the Rosecliffe Spencer Academy in Nottingham as a last day of term treat.
All 515 pupils and staff at Rosecliffe Spencer Academy in Edwalton enjoyed a cool treat throughout the afternoon after Platform Home Ownership arranged for an ice cream van to visit the school from 1:30pm up until home time.
Louise Rowley, Vice Principal at Rosecliffe Spencer Academy, said: “It was a lovely surprise for everybody at our school, and the ice cream van was a real treat on a warm final day.”
“Last summer, Platform supported us with a generous donation of sports equipment and we’re really grateful to the team for thinking of us once more. It’s fantastic to have a local organisation so invested in the local community.”
Justyna Chohan, Sales Consultant at Platform, said: “We wanted to do something fun for the pupils and staff at Rosecliffe Spencer Academy, given the school is on our Edwalton Fields development and there will be many youngsters there living in our homes either now or in the future.”
“Supporting the communities around our developments is really important to us, and it was great to see everybody enjoying their ice creams.”
