Members of Clifton Doves WI and residents of Larkhill Village have been meeting bimonthly as ‘Doves & Larks Book Club’ since 2018 for lively discussions and chats!
This friendly group meets in a private room at Lark Hill Village, and the books are borrowed from the Library and distributed by Clifton Doves.
The readers have sampled a mix of genres with titles including Celia Imrie’s Sail Away with Me, Daphnia du Maurier’s Rebecca and The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out A Window And Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson.
Clifton Library helps to supply paperback, hardback and large print copies, while some readers prefer to download the audiobook or read on their e-reader.
Books are handed out at the end of each meeting, and members have two months to read and ruminate before the next discussion.
Non-members are welcome to attend, provided they source their own copy of the set book and there is no charge for anyone attending.
The current book is ‘A Good Heart is Hard to Find’ by Tricia Ashley, and the next will be ‘The Late Show’ by Michael Connelly.
Doves & Larks meets on the third Tuesday every other month, and the next meeting will be Tuesday 22nd March from 7.15 – 8.15pm.
Refreshments can be purchased from the bar to take into the discussion with you, please arrive a few minutes earlier.
If you would like to come along, please contact us in advance so that we can meet you at the entrance to Lark Hill.
