Mr Woodward and Mrs Elston took ten Year 5 pupils out to represent The Milford Academy in a Quad Kids athletics competition, competing against several other Nottingham schools.
The children took part in four athletic events:
- 50-meter sprint
• 400-meter race
• Long jump (into sand)
• Vortex Howler throw
Each child earned points for their team after completing each of the events. The higher the children finished in each activity, the more points they received for the team.
After a very energetic and exciting afternoon, with a grand total of 1,378 points – The Milford Academy finished in 1st place!
The Year 5 team received gold medals and bragging rights of being the best Year 5 athletics team in Nottingham.
