The Core Centre, based within the Working Men’s Club in Calverton, were recently crowded runners up in the ‘Outstanding Community Project’ Award at the Pride of Gedling Awards.
Two of the amazing volunteers (Lisa and Jenny – photographed below) attended on Core’s behalf to collect the fantastic award.
A spokesperson from the Core Centre said: “We’re so proud not only to have been nominated but to have received the ‘Runners up’ award.
“We’ve worked hard, together with our fabulous team of volunteers to build the Charity back up and the award is more for them than us as project managers – it’s a simple recipe really, a sprinkling of kindness and people helping people…. It’s what we’re all about here at Core!”
