The Clifton Time Capsule

01/06/2022 by Digital Media

The last 8 weeks has been a busy time for Cllr Maria Watson in her quest for collating letters from local children for a Time Capsule, which will be buried on the 4th June 2022.

To coincide with the Platinum Jubilee, Local schools were invited to take part in the challenge, where children where asked thought provoking questions about the future. These included:

How do you see the world in 50 years time?
What would you like to achieve in 50 years?
What are your hopes and dreams for the next 50 years?

The response from local schools was fantastic, with 10 letters being accepted from each school. The Farnborough Academy submitted 21 letters, all of which will be enclosed in the capsule.

Teachers spoke of how enthusiastic and excited pupils were in writing their own letters and being creative with their future opinions!

The time capsule will be buried for 50 years in the hope that on the 4th June 2072, the capsule will be uncovered and the children will be able to see if their current thoughts and dreams became reality!
