Table 4-Club family walk to Ukraine embassy

03/04/2022 by Digital Media

Four-club family members Ash Gardner (Beeston Round Table, Nottingham) and Emily Gardner (Long Eaton Ladies Circle) have taken on an exceptional challenge to raise funds for Ukraine.

They departed from Round Table Britain & Ireland HQ in Birmingham at 6am on Thursday 10th March, walking 120 miles to the Ukrainian Embassy in London, finishing on Sunday 13th March.

Their aim was to raise £9,500 for Ukraine relief as part of Round Table’s 95th year in which the leading young man’s organisation has pledged to raise £95,000 for this cause. At the time of writing, over £14,000 had been raised. A fantastic achievement by all.

All the money raised will be sent to Round Table Germany to support their humanitarian relief efforts for Ukrainian civilians.

More details on Round Table can be found at: https://roundtable.co.uk/ and on Ladies Circle at http://ladiescircle.co.uk/

Photographs show the pair in the rain on day 2 and at the Ukrainian Embassy with Andriy Marchenko (Minister Counsellor & Deputy Head of Mission) and Inna Prystaiko (UK Ukrainian Ambassador’s wife)
