Pupils at Brookside Primary School in East Leake have received a donation of 35 hi-vis vests from David Wilson Homes to help ensure they remain visible and safe during their journeys to and from school.
The vests will help children stand out to drivers and other road users, particularly during early morning and late afternoon commutes when daylight is scarce.
Located near David Wilson Homes’ The Skylarks development, Brookside Primary School is the latest recipient of the homebuilder’s commitment to promoting community safety.
This initiative is part of an annual nationwide campaign by David Wilson Homes to provide hi-vis vests to schools across the country.
Gary Kenny, Head Teacher at Brookside Primary School, said: “The hi-vis vests are a very welcome donation from David Wilson Homes. The vests allow our children to remain safe and seen especially at a time of year with the least daylight.”
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We’re proud to donate these hi-vis vests to Brookside Primary School and support its pupils’ safety throughout the year.”
