Photographer documenting West Bridgford lives in lockdown

22/04/2020 by Digital Media

Local photographer Ali J is on a mission to capture portraits documenting lives in lockdown with her new project titled “West Bridgford Wanders in a time of Lockdown”.

Ali is asking locals of West Bridgford to step forward and send her a message if you and/or your family would like to take part.

“I am creating a series of portraits, glimpsing into the lives of people in West Bridgford and the local area, during Lockdown, using my daily permitted walk. From the pavement, at a socially permitted distance, taking a snapshot into gardens or doorways, documenting how these unprecedented times are being felt by people in our community.” Ali said.

So far she has already taken some fantastic portraits and snapshots, including families making treehouses, gardening, going for walks and even friendly police officers.

When asking for volunteers she said, “ I’d love to include you in this project, be it a family portrait in the doorway, the children playing on the chalk drawings down Selby and Musters Road, water fights in the front garden, sat reading from a window or faces smudged up against the window glass! I’d also love to capture the wonderful support that the community is providing from sewing scrubs to 3D printers and PPE, food bank drops to delivering meals. Sensible or silly ideas, drop me a message if you’d like to be involved.
