Nottingham City Transport is one of over 140 bus operators across England participating in an extended government Help for Households initiative, which sees the maximum single bus fare for all journeys capped at £2.
The £2 maximum single fare offers a 20% discount on the usual adult single fare for NCT journeys in the Nottingham area and can be purchased on bus using contactless or cash, through the NCTX Buses app and on a Robin Hood Pay As You Go Card.
Customers travelling on NCT’s longer distance routes can also take advantage of the government scheme, with their maximum fare also capped at £2 for adults and under 19s.
David Astill, NCT’s Managing Director said: “Nottingham City Transport is pleased to confirm that it will participate in the extension of the government’s £2 single fare cap for another three months through to the end of June. We urge people in our area to take advantage of this offer and try our services perhaps as an alternate to using their cars.
“Our services are particularly convenient for journeys to the City Centre and there are many events and attractions to visit during the Easter holidays and the May Bank Holidays that can be made without the hassle of City Centre parking”.
The £2 Maximum Fare is being funded by £75 million of extra Government investment across England.
