Local businesses donate to Buttercross Pre-School

04/11/2020 by Digital Media

Buttercross Pre-School in Bingham, has had great support from local businesses to enable them to better work in partnership with parents during the pandemic.

Due to Covid19 they have had to change many things at Pre-School and had to adapt the way they operate on a day to day basis.

One downside is that they are no longer able to accept parents onto our site when dropping or picking up children. This makes it very difficult to keep parents in the loop regarding what their children are doing and for them to talk about their child’s learning or their concerns outside of the setting.

Unfortunately, the Pre-School’s existing equipment was not fit for purpose and 2 local businesses (Martin Shelton Plumbing and Heating and John A Stephens Ltd) very kindly donated enough money for them to buy new tablets to replace the old ones.

These businesses have enabled them to move forward and their donations has made a huge difference to everyone.

They have been amazed by the generosity and their willingness to help support the adaptations that they have found ourselves needing to make, to ensure that the children are getting the very best for their learning and that parents feel that they are a part of their child’s life within the setting while not being able to enter the Pre-School.

They are now using an App called Famly which enables the staff to upload pictures, observations, notes and suggestions for further learning.

It also enables the parents to do the same. This is really supporting the parent partnership and they are really loving its features.
