Labour candidate welcomes new services from the CORE Centre

06/11/2019 by Digital Media

Jerry Hague Labour candidate for Sherwood was full of praise for the hard work of the staff at the CORE Centre in Calverton and the wide range of services provided.

Jerry said “It was a pleasure to meet the team at the CORE Centre which has provided a wide range of courses and activities in the village for 25 years.

CORE offers access to education and training, support with Job searching, Feet First Reflexology and hosts activities including Seated Yoga and Bingo.  It is open Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 3.45pm.”

Jerry added ” The centre is always looking to lay on additional courses that help local residents and has recently created a Victim Care support service for victims of crime, hate crime and anti-social behaviour providing emotional support as well as practical advice.

The Centre also now has an advisor who can help with applications for allowances, particularly Attendance Allowance, in addition to the CAB surgeries which take place every Monday.

I believe CORE is a vital part of the local community and is certainly an organisation I fully support”.
