A Village Quiz that is unique in the whole UK is taking place in February for the 48th time in Keyworth.
The Keyworth Village Quiz is a ‘University Challenge’ style event where competing teams from the village face each other on the Keyworth Village Hall stage.
Teams are made up of four people and come from local community groups. There are four rounds of questions with the final round being a fastest finger round where teams have to press their Bells or Buzzers to have the chance to answer.
20 teams have entered the 2024 Quiz and the first four Quiz evenings will take place on 5th, 12th and 19th February and 4th March.
The Quarter-Finals takes place on Monday 11th March with the Semi-Finals and Final on the 18th March.
On 5th and 12th February the Quiz evenings start at 7pm and for the remaining four weeks at 7.30pm.
Entry to watch is free. Arrive early for the best seats as there is an audience each week of over 100.
Refreshments are available with money collected going to local community groups in the village with over £350 raised in 2023.
Quiz organisers John Spafford and Paul Turner are on their 11th year running the Quiz together – that’s over 15,000 questions asked so far!
