The popular Lowdham Summer Show returns on Monday 31 August, bringing an afternoon of family entertainment, competitions and community spirit to Lowdham Village Hall and Playing Fields (NG14 7BD). The show is running from 1pm to 4.30pm, the event offers something for all ages, with admission £3 and free entry for children under 16.

Visitors can enjoy a fantastic programme of entertainment, including an acrobatic display by the Dako Flying Angels and music from Nottingham Concert Band.
Throughout the afternoon, there will be a variety of sideshows and stalls, traditional games, a licensed bar, and refreshments including tea and home-made cakes. The exhibitors’ marquee will showcase home-grown flowers, fruit and vegetables, floral art, home baking, arts and crafts, and exhibits by young people. The day concludes with the traditional duck race, followed by a raffle and auction of exhibit donations and surplus produce.
Anyone with an interest in growing flowers, fruit or vegetables, flower arranging, crafting, baking or photography is encouraged to enter exhibits in the show. With 130 different classes available, there is something for all the family, whether beginners or experienced exhibitors. Classes for under-16s are free to enter, and every young entrant receives a prize. Schedules and entry forms are available from Lowdham Post Office, The Bookcase, or can be downloaded from www.lowdhamhortsoc.org.uk.
New members are always welcome to join the society. Anyone able to spare a few hours in the weeks leading up to the event, or on Summer Show Day itself, is encouraged to get involved.
