Fresh New Civic Walks for a Summer in Beeston

24/05/2025 by Digital Media

Interested in learning more about the area? Join us on one of our summer walks series.

For around 90 minutes a local expert will guide you around areas of Beeston and nearby on an interesting theme.  A chance to discover something new about places you may walk past everyday, meet new people, and get to know where you live a little better…

Our 2025 programme of walks are fresh out the box, and will run between May and October, see below for details of the walks we have arranged this year or go online.

  • Everyone is welcome – we’re kids, dogs on leads, pram, and wheelchair friendly*
    • FREE for BCS members
    • Not a member? Please just make a donation you can afford – or join now to get all our walks and events for free.
    • Just turn up at the meeting spot – no need to book!

Sunday 11 May – Nature Reserve Interactive by Nigel Slater. Meet at Attenborough Nature Reserve at 10.30am.

Saturday 14 June – Canalside + Trentside by Mike Spencer. Meet at Beeston Lock at 10.30am.

Sunday 13 July – Urban Design: New Developments by Dr Stefan Kruczkowski.
Meet at Beeston Rail Station Car Park at 2pm.

*Routes are generally fully accessible and suitable for all abilities. Please ensure you wear suitable clothing, and footwear, for a short walk in British summertime (sunblock, brolly, bottle of water, waterproofs, jumper in the bag…. the permutations are endless).
