There’s just one week left to register for Framework’s Big Sleep Out, to help local homeless people off the streets.
Framework, a charity providing support and accommodation for homeless people, will host its annual sponsored sleep out at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground (behind the Brian Clough Stand) from 7pm on the evening of Saturday, November 23rd.
Participants will brave a night in cardboard shelters in return for sponsorship from friends, families and colleagues. Money raised will help Framework’s Street Outreach Team to help rough sleepers off the street and to address their increasingly complex physical and mental health needs.
Framework operates a street outreach service in Nottingham and across Nottinghamshire to help people who are sleeping rough. Team members work directly with people on the streets to address the problems they are facing and provide the best possible solutions to their homelessness. Money raised at the Big Sleep Out will support this work.
Framework Fundraising Manager Andy Shields said: “We’ve got more than 200 people signed up to take part already but we’d love to see even more of you on the night. For anyone concerned about homelessness this is the perfect way to help.
“Our Big Sleep Out event gives people the opportunity to experience rough sleeping on a single night in a safe and secure location, and to better understand what the most vulnerable homeless people go through every single night. Every penny raised will be used by us to reach out to people and help them off the streets.”
The deadline for signing up to this year’s event is midnight on Thursday, November 21st.
Full registration for the event is open now. More details can be found at www.frameworkha.org/bigsleepout
