West Bridgford based Family friendly Eateries provides monthly reviews and recommendations for parents or guardians looking for child-friendly restaurants, cafes, pubs and venues around Nottingham and beyond.
“The only thing I like better than talking about food, is eating”
This month, the brains behind the business Alison, reviewed The Lost City Adventure Golf at the Corner House in Nottingham City Centre.
THE TIKI BAR
I’m always one for dress-up and themed parties so as you can imagine I loved the atmosphere even though it’s just ‘mini-golf’ 🙂 The bar staff were all dressed up as lobsters for some reason – that was entertaining for my son!
THE LONG AWAITED 12″ PIZZAS
Pizzas are claimed to be made fresh in-house so maybe that’s the reason it took a while to arrive? It was OK – not the best pizza I have ever had but in their defence they are not really a ‘restaurant’. It was tasty and did the job though! I don’t think you can really go wrong with pizzas unless it’s burnt to a crisp!
THE FAMILY FRIENDLY TEST
Most things ticked the boxes for example, the dedicated disabled and baby changing room. This was pretty cool as far as toilets go. I did ask for a highchair for my daughter but they unfortunately, didn’t have any. I would have hoped they supplied highchairs for the little ones seeing as they catered for the baby changing facility and pushchairs. I’d recommend getting a couple just in case you get the odd family who needs it. They’re quite cheap from IKEA! 🙂
I had the pushchair and I truly put that to the test as we had to go through the Temple Trail! Plenty of room for us to walk through with the gang. They have a mini lift to get you down to the golf trails from the Tiki Bar. We did get stuck in it at one point but that was down to human error on our side!
‘PUTT’-ING FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
The novelty never wears off with mini-golf and it’s great that this is still going strong in Nottingham. There’s a handful of mini-golf venues locally but I think the location is spot on. It’s indoors so you don’t have to worry about kids (or adults) getting cold! Plus, it’s in the heart of the city centre and if pizza is not your thing there’s always other cafes or restaurants at your doorstep.
Overall, it was a fun experience and glad we chose to have a family reunion here. Firstly, it was a rainy day, so this venue ticked the box for that. I would recommend for anyone to try mini golf at The Lost City Adventure Golf as it’s great fun for the family.
