Students at Nottingham Free School, part of Nova Education Trust, are celebrating achieving a record number of grades in both English and Maths, with 80 per cent achieving Grade 4 or higher and 20 per cent Grade 7 or higher.
Head of Year 11, Natasha Harmer-Weston, said: “Congratulations to all our Year 11 students on their superb GCSE results.
“It is most heart-warming to witness their transformation into amazing young people, who are now ready for post-16 education or training.”
Deputy Head (Academic), Rebecca Farnie, added: “We are thrilled by what our wonderful students have achieved.
“Furthermore, it is very pleasing that a strong number of students are studying for their A Levels at the school’s Sixth Form from September.”
High-achieving students of note include Beatrice Russo, with an amazing seven Grade 9s and four Grade 8s, and Fred Greenwood with three Grade 9s and seven Grade 8s.
Beatrice and Fred were extremely keen to thank all their teachers for the great support and commitment during their time at Nottingham Free School.

Fred was also quick to thank his teachers, saying: “Teachers have done a lot to boost my confidence and always helped me out.”
Jo Simpson, Headteacher, said: “Given the dedication and resilience consistently demonstrated by our Year 11 students, we are all incredibly proud of these well-deserved results.
