Eco-friendly wrapping paper

01/11/2019 by Digital Media

Last year it was estimated that 108 million rolls of Christmas paper were thrown out by Brits.

Even the most well-intentioned of us may not be aware that most wrapping paper cannot be recycled, specifically paper that contains plastic, foil, dye, glitter or left-over sticky tape. That’s is a lot of waste!

This doesn’t mean you should be giving your gifts without the receiver having the joy of unwrapping them, where’s the fun in that? So thankfully, there are some eco-friendly alternatives.

Why not use recycled brown paper, you can purchase this almost anywhere and it’s super cheap. You can even get crafty by using ink stamps or drawing on the paper to decorate and tie string or ribbon around them.

Other ideas include making fabric re-usable gift bags out of old materials, wrapping presents with regular recyclable paper, re-use old wrapping paper or gift bags and jazz up the presents with eco-friendly twine or even small branches from your own Christmas tree.
