Developer donates to local school to celebrate the 2022 World Cup

25/01/2023 by Digital Media

Developer Barratt Homes has made a donation of footballs to Carnarvon Primary School in Bingham following the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The school received a total of 25 footballs from the developer to inspire the next generation of footballers following one of the world’s most anticipated events.

Mr Board, Headteacher at Carnarvon Primary School, said: “We were delighted to receive these footballs as they will allow us to engage even more children in football following the World Cup.”

The World Cup, held in Qatar, saw Argentina crowned the winner of the final match against France on Sunday 18th December.

Barratt Homes hopes that the donation of footballs to Carnarvon Primary School will enable the children to practice and develop their footballing skills after watching the nation’s stars play on the TV.

The school will be able to make use of the balls in their PE lessons to teach the children the basics of the game.

Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “As a leading housebuilder, we see it as our responsibility to help out the local communities in which we build, and this includes helping children to stay active and develop a love for a sport in the early stages of their lives.”

“We hope that the children at Carnarvon Primary School are able to make great use of the footballs and that it encourages them to follow in the footsteps of their footballing role models.”
