Collection success for the Fire Fighters Charity

04/02/2022 by Digital Media

On Sunday 19th December 2021, a street collection was organised and hosted by local Firefighter Arron Enever to assist The Fire Fighters Charity who exist to support the mental, physical and social needs of all serving and retired members of the UK’s fire family.

Arron, who is based at the London Road station in Nottingham managed the event, where a 1939 Leyland Wheeled Escape fire engine was supplied by Bygone Fire Engines. This was used around Birmingham during the Second World War.

The vintage engine is owned by Mr John Todd who is a retired Sub Officer from Arnold Fire Station in Notts. Every year he lights up the fire engine and attends events, in the hope of raising money for charities.

The collection was also attended by Santa Claus and crews and volunteers from London Road, Carlton and Stapleford Fire Stations.

A huge thank you to all the supporters where £2,113.08 was raised.

Chief promoter details: Firefighter Arron Enever.  Area to which the permit related: City Centre.  Name of the Charity to benefit: The Fire Fighters Charity.  Date of the collection: 19 December 2021.  Amount Collected: £2,113.08
