Local RNLI branch start the new year with new venture

04/02/2022 by Digital Media

This year the West Bridgford Branch celebrates its 51st anniversary.

Having started as a lady’s lifeboat guild in the Lady Bay area of the town, it expanded its operations and men were later allow to join.  It became the West Bridgford Branch which over the years evolved and changed how and where it operates. That evolation continues to take place even today.

In the last two years the covid pandemic has caused even more thinking and changes, moving the branch further into the digital era with Zoom meetings replacing face to face committee meetings.

This year for the first time the branch are to hold a digital online quiz called “Sea Quiz”, in the hope of recovering some of the money lost owing to Covid lockdowns. In a further display of changing times, it includes a £15 first prize and a lucky dip £5 prize. Entry fee is £2. Please pay Janet Gibbons via Pay Pal – jntgbbns144@gmail.com. Please put your email address in the “Notes Box” and the question paper will be emailed to you.  The closing date is 31 March 2022.

Please come and join us from your armchair. It should be entertaining and benefit the RNLI as well.

Good Luck!
