Charterpoint secures planning permission for apartment development

31/03/2020 by Digital Media

Developer Charterpoint has secured planning permission for a development of one-bedroom apartments in Beeston, Nottingham.

The two/three-storey scheme, on the corner of Queens Road and Hawthorn Grove, will provide nine individual apartments.

Featuring open plan kitchen, living and dining areas, the properties will be located a short walk from Beeston town centre and close to the University of Nottingham, major employers such as Boots, and key tram, bus and rail facilities.

Director of Edwalton-based Charterpoint, Giles Nursey, said: “This is a great location with facilities such as shops, food outlets and transport opportunities on the doorstep. We are pleased that this development by Charterpoint will help to provide much-needed housing in Beeston that will suit young professionals, first-time buyers and others.

“This is the latest in a number of projects that Charterpoint has developed in Beeston and we look forward to seeing it come to fruition.”

The scheme, designed by West Bridgford-based Swish Architecture Ltd, includes covered car parking, internal and external cycle storage.

Broxtowe Borough Council granted approval for the development, stating in a report to councillors that: “The benefits of the proposal are that it would provide nine additional homes within an existing urban area and would support short term benefits such as jobs during the construction of the proposed dwellings and would be in accordance with policies contained within the development plan.”

The site is currently used as a car sales business.

Charterpoint, which is based at Wheatcroft Business Park, Edwalton, Nottingham, specialises in developing and delivering high quality, built environments.
