A brain injury charity in Nottingham has thanked the community for answering its urgent call for donations.
Over the past six months, Headway – the brain injury association, has seen a massive 10 per cent drop in charity shop donations, alongside increased customer footfall. Subsequently, its shops in Beeston, Eastwood, Hucknall, Kirkby and Mapperley urgently need donations.
However, Jeannette Nadin, Store Manager at Headway’s Beeston shop, has been delighted by the public’s support so far.
She said: “I’d like to thank Nottingham Local News for the wonderful piece asking for donations. Ninety bags of quality items were donated to the Beeston shop during one weekend.
“Although Headway’s Nottingham shops still desperately need donations, the community’s response has been amazing; we’re extremely grateful.
“Headway’s a national charity that originated in Nottingham and still has its headquarters here. It supports people with brain injuries, including those due to brain tumours, strokes, accidents, and sporting injuries.
“Please continue supporting us by donating quality clothing or bric-a-brac. Every donation helps Headway support people rebuilding their lives after brain injury.”
