Celebrated author Paul Linnet visits two local primary schools

27/07/2024 by Digital Media

Children at Lady Bay Primary School and Pierrepont Gamston Primary School had a fantastic treat on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th June, as renowned author Paul Linnet, best known for the popular “Super Tato” series which he writes with the talented Sue Hendra, paid them a visit at both schools.

During his two-day visit, Paul Linnet engaged with students in reception, year 1, and year 2, reading them some of their  beloved stories, sharing insights into the life of an author, and sparking their creativity by encouraging them to create their own superhero vegetables.

The impact of Paul Linnet’s visit was evident in the writing and drawing produced by the children, with staff members at both schools being amazed by the inspiration he instilled in the young minds.

“What a wonderful way to bring their learning to life. The children at Pierrepont Gamston always do a topic looking at Paul Linnet’s books and to get to meet him in person blew them away!” said Claire Bills, Head Teacher at Pierrepont Gamston Primary School. “For the students, meeting a successful author like Paul Linnet was an unforgettable experience, as they had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the world of storytelling.”

Jane Hewitt at Lady Bay Primary School commented: “The children loved listening to Paul Linnet play the guitar and especially enjoyed joining in with the lyrics to his silly Super Tato song!

“The children did not stop smiling and laughing during his visit! In fact some are still giggling about some of the funny things Paul said two days later!”

Overall, the visit was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on both the children and teachers involved. It was a day filled with inspiration, creativity, and excitement that will be remembered for years to come.
