Bingham Primary School pupils enjoying the teddy bears’ picnic

03/01/2023 by Digital Media

Pupils at a primary school in Bingham have ‘bear-nefitted’ from a generous donation from David Wilson Homes, enabling them to tuck into a teddy bears’ picnic and enjoy their first days at school in style.

Bingham Primary School, located on Burrows Drive near the homebuilder’s Romans’ Quarter development, received 56 eco-friendly teddy bears for pupils to enjoy at an afternoon event hosted by the school.

The picnic gave the young pupils a chance to enjoy the great outdoors, make friends, perform a dance, and interact with their new bears. Parents and carers also accompanied the children to celebrate the event.

The traditional teddies – which were made using 100% recycled materials and customised with the Bingham Primary School logo – were gifted by the housebuilder for children to take home with them following the event.

Gayle Ellis, Headteacher at Bingham Primary School, said: “It was a wonderful afternoon. Our families all enjoyed picnics together, and the children put on a performance for their parents.

“We would like to thank David Wilson Homes for the teddy bears. The pupils now have a ‘keep-sake’ to remind them of their first days at Bingham Primary School.”

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We’re thrilled to have been able to provide a fun and sustainable present to the pupils of Bingham Primary School for the special occasion.

“A teddy bears’ picnic is a wonderful way for pupils to bond and get to know each other, and we hope that our donation made their day all the more special.”
