Barefoot Anna runs into Beeston

25/09/2019 by Digital Media

70 members of Girlguiding Nottinghamshire will welcome adventurer, athlete, motivational speaker and Girlguiding ambassador Anna McNuff as she stops in Beeston during her Barefoot Britain challenge.

Thursday 26 September

6.00pm-7.30pm

Welcome cheer at Beeston Rylands railway bridge

This will be followed by an evening of activities and discussions led by Anna  at Beeston Rylands Methodist Church, Victory Road NG9 1LH.

Anna McNuff has already undertaken some extraordinary challenges, including cycling 11,000 miles through all 50 states in the US and running 1,911 miles along New Zealand’s Te Araroa trail. As an ambassador for Girlguiding, her role is to inspire and encourage girls and young women to unleash their full potential, learn new skills, embrace fresh challenges and enjoy the journey.

For this, her latest adventure, Anna has set herself the target of running the equivalent distance of 100 marathons (2,620 miles) through Britain, all completely barefoot.

70 members of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers from Beeston, Chilwell, Arnold and West Bridgford will cheer Anna on as she runs over Beeston Rylands railway bridge and then welcome her to their meeting: adding their voices to the welcome will be Jackie Brocklehurst (Girlguiding Nottinghamshire’s County Commissioner) and Abi Salter (Chief Commissioner for Girlguiding Midlands).
