The annual Taste of Rushcliffe food festival returns to West Bridgford on Saturday August 27 with Nottinghamshire’s own Annie’s Burger Shack among the star attractions in a celebration of fabulous local food flavours.
Annie, owner of the local restaurant will provide a cookery demonstration featuring a menu favourite Portland stuffed French toast with sausage patty and a new Californian Monte Cristo sandwich.
It’s all part of Rushcliffe Borough Council’s annual event that returns to Central Avenue in the town from 10am to 3pm.
The appearance will complement a fabulous range of local food stalls from over 40 growers, makers, cooks and businesses as part of the Borough’s celebrations for Nottinghamshire Day later this month.
Event-goers can sample delicious dishes from the host of local businesses including Brockleby’s, Doughnotts, Beeston Brownie and Freshly Spiced.
Annie from Annie’s Burger Shack said: “I can’t wait to visit the Taste of Rushcliffe Food Festival and showcase my top recipes and cooking tips.
“I moved to Nottingham in 1994 and I lived in West Bridgford for a few years and absolutely loved it. I set up Annie’s Burger Shack back in 2009 and throughout the years I’ve enjoyed welcoming visitors old and new to try my handcrafted traditional American burgers and breakfast menu which is inspired by my favorite places in the USA.
“I’m looking forward to showing the audience some classic brunch ideas that you can make yourself at home to impress your friends and family. We’ll also be showcasing our exciting new Annie’s BBQ home kit at the event which I can’t wait to share with you.
“I’m proud to be part of the local community and I’m excited to meet other local residents and traders that share my passion for great food. This is an event you won’t want to miss!”
From fantastic rare breed meats to tasty pies, preserves and pastries, the Taste of Rushcliffe is a showcase of the huge variety of food, drink and talent that the Borough has to offer.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change Cllr Abby Brennan said: “We welcome Annie who has made a name for herself for having one of the best burger shacks in Nottinghamshire.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what delicious recipes she cooks up in her masterclass and I’m confident the crowds will love it.
“Our annual Taste of Rushcliffe event showcases the talented local businesses that we are proud to have in the Borough and gives event-goers a chance to sample the wide range of delicious dishes available.
