American-themed music bar to create twenty jobs

20/09/2019 by Digital Media

A new dive bar-inspired music venue in Nottingham is set to open in October, creating up to 20 jobs. Billy Bootleggers, a 250-capacity space situated at the site of the former Gypsy Lounge on Weekday Cross, will serve up American-themed food and drink and play host to regular live music events. The Billy Bootleggers brand originally launched in Newcastle in 2017.

Owner Elliot Towsey said: “Nottingham is my home city. I had a few bars in London, before heading up north to Newcastle but I always knew I wanted to come back home and open a venue here.

“Nottingham has a great buzz about it and is well known for its live music scene. It’s great to be back, it’s great to be creating new jobs, it’s even great to be rolling up my sleeves and painting the place as we get ready to open”.
“I know people are going to love everything Billy’s is about. It’s not American-themed, just American inspired and, although it’s based on a dive bar concept, expect a polished roughness rather than downright dirty!”
