Anna Markowski from Calverton decided to dedicate her time to raising money for charity during lockdown.
The 8-year-old, who is in year 3 at St Wilfrids School, set herself a steep challenge to raise money for local Nottingham charity, Forever Stars.
Anna aimed to run 3km every day over the period of 3 weeks with a target of raising £100 for the charity.
Her mother, Sarah Markowski said, “The challenge she set herself was not an easy one for her, but she set out every day with a smile on her face and battled through intense heat and sometimes rain to complete the 21 runs.”
Running approximately 69km, which is equal to around 43 miles over the weeks. Her bravery and dedication didn’t go unnoticed by friends, family and locals as she smashed her original target. So far, she has raised an astonishing £1280, with the total still rising today.
Sarah continued, “Our family and all her friends are so proud of her!”
