An award-winning journalist born and raised in West Bridgford has launched a website which seeks to tell the stories of football fandom, and particularly, Nottingham Forest through long-read feature pieces “for the soul, not for clicks”.
Peter Blackburn, who lives in Bingham but went to school in West Bridgford and later studied for an MA in newspaper journalism at Nottingham Trent University, has published the first pieces on his Substack entitled life, love and football, and has published a wide range of pieces including an interview with former Forest legend Brian Laws, a piece on life during and after being in the Forest academy, and pieces on former manager Sean Dyche and new manager Vitor Pereira.
Mr Blackburn, who has won national awards for his investigative journalism focusing particularly on social justice issues, will be updating the website regularly.
He said: “Life, love and football is a place to escape the relentless noise of modern football and the relentless reactive rage cultivated. Here I will look at the role sport plays in our lives and the things that move us.”
