Wool Fairies organise Easter Egg hunt to raise money for local park

22/03/2021 by Digital Media

A group of creative knitters in Burton Joyce have organised an Egg-citing event, ‘The Big Woolly Easter Hunt’ which will take place across the village in order to raise money for Burton Joyce Park.

The hunt will take place on 4th April, Easter Sunday.

The local wool fairies have been very busy over the past few months sewing and knitting Easter Eggs, Easter Characters and 3 giant fluffy eggs which have been hidden around Burton Joyce, ready to be found during the hunt.

So far, they have made over 300 woollen surprises to find.

They’ve also created some special woollen decorations for the village postbox.

On the day of the hunt, there will be an extra special treat as Little John’s Pizza will be located at The Cross Keys Car Park so you can pick up a Mini Pizza or a Sweet Pizza to keep you going during the day. And to wash it all down, you can grab a cup of coffee from the Village’s favourite coffee bar ‘The Little Schnauzer’. Both will be available from 11am – 3pm.

As a special treat, if you find one of the 3 large fluffy eggs, take it to Niki at Little John’s Pizza to claim your prize.

Wool Fairy Sally Fletcher said, “We are wanting too raise £1200 for Burton Joyce Park. We are at £738 so far, we’re so close so please, please any small amount of a donation will be amazing. We have all used the park at some time, which is desperate to be updated and bringing it back to its former glory. You can donate on the crowdfunding page.

“I would like to thank everyone who is making this happen, from ‘the woolly crew’ to the people who have donated and many more. THANK YOU”

The aim is to raise £1,000 for Burton Joyce Park so that it can receive essential updates for the use of the local community. If you would like to donate to help raise money for the Park, please visit: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/woollyeasterhunt?utm_term=grwbmDXXx
