The 14th February is Valentine’s day. Whether you have a significant other or not, it’s still a great excuse to watch some romance-type flicks whilst eating snacks and chocolate. Here’s a few classic movie recommendations:
The Notebook

Sam and Molly love each other, but their romance is short-lived when Sam is killed by a thug. Unable to tell Molly that her life is in danger, Sam’s spirit takes a psychic’s help in order to save her. – An iconic classic movie starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Joel and Clementine begin a relationship post a train journey together, unaware that they had previously been in a relationship, the memories of which were clinically erased. This film stars Jim Carrey in a role that truly shows his diverse acting abilities.
Lost in Translation
An American actor Bob, lands in Tokyo for an ad film and ends up meeting Charlotte, who’s left behind by her photographer husband. Gradually, the two discover a friend within each other.
Clueless
Cher is a rich high-school student who is learning to cope with adolescence and its problems. She also helps a new student gain popularity and in the process discovers her own feelings.
Enchanted
Princess Giselle is banished from her kingdom by her lover’s evil stepmother. She is then transported to the real world where she meets a lawyer and finds herself falling for him. This one is a great family movie if you’re at home with the kids.
10 Things I Hate About You
A high-school boy, Cameron, cannot date Bianca until her anti-social older sister, Kat, has a boyfriend. So, Cameron pays a mysterious boy, Patrick, to charm Kat. This one stars the beautiful Heath Ledger.
La La Land
Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) and Mia (Emma Stone) are drawn together by their common desire to do what they love. But as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart. This movie is a love letter to the old Hollywood musicals such as Singing in the Rain.
