Tools With a Mission – End of Year Update 2023

08/02/2024 by Digital Media

TWAM (Tools With a Mission) collects unwanted tools and sends them off to Africa in kits, so that people can make a living and support their families and communities. The tool kits are shipped to the following countries – Zambia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Tanzania and Malawi.

At St Mary’s Church TWAM has had an extraordinary year. 2023 exceeded any expectations we had. The tools have been flowing through our TWAM collection point in East Leake.

Here is a rough estimate of what has been achieved at TWAM East Leake during the past year.

We have sent, via a TWAM collection van, 11 Tonnes (8 van loads) of various tools including:
Power tools, various carpentry tools, laptops, plumbing tools, specialist tools, agricultural tools – spades, shovels, hoes etc, chainsaws, 49 sewing machines, knitting machines or assorted haberdashery.

TWAM, as a national organisation, has sent 15,158 tool kits and machines in 2023. These make a massive impact on individuals and communities. This ranges from Women’s Groups to Young People. Street Children to Ex-offenders. HIV/AIDS to sex-workers. These people get a chance to change their futures and the futures of their communities. So thank you for your continuing support and donations to TWAM at East Leake.

TWAM Collection point: The Rectory, 3 Bateman Road, East Leake. LE12 6LN

We’re open on the first Saturday of every month from 9.00am-11.00am
