The Family Chemist goes the extra mile for local school

02/10/2025 by Digital Media

Jesse Gray Primary School celebrated a day to remember recently with the local community as their new running track was officially unveiled thanks to The Family Chemist’s generous donation.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on the sunny 8th September,
marked the completion of the track built to support the school’s ‘Daily Mile’ initiative. Encouraging children to run, jog, or even walk a mile each day to boost physical and mental wellbeing.

As Nikita Dhain, co-founder of The Family Chemist said: ‘It’s so important that children learn from a young age that movement is for everyone.’

This event was made even more special by the presence of Paralympian gold medallist and local hero Richard Whitehead MBE, who joined the students to celebrate. Whitehead, a passionate advocate for encouraging physical activity in young people, helped launch the track in style with a conga around the track.

The Family Chemist’s co-founders Nikita and Sunny Dhain were also present to hand over a cheque to the school, marking the company’s proud sponsorship of the new facility. Encircling the school’s playing field, the newly opened track is now available for daily use. Its debut was made even more memorable by perfect weather for the first official lap, and even more magical with impromptu karaoke moments that brought laughter and relaxation.

The Family Chemist believes that encouraging children to stay active is key to their development, building confidence, and supporting long-term health. ‘Healthy habits are formed in childhood,’ Sunny Dhain was quoted ‘and when children are encouraged to be active while they’re still full of energy, it sets the tone for how they’ll care for themselves in the years to come.’

Building lifelong healthy habits from an early age, helping children establish the foundations of wellness that they will carry into their teenage years and beyond.

Known for its commitment to accessible, personal, and professional healthcare, The Family Chemist saw this sponsorship as a natural extension of its mission. Promoting wellness at every stage of life, not just through medication, but through proactive and preventive measures such as staying active. By your side at each step of health’s journey.

The atmosphere on the day was one of celebration and community pride with students, teachers, and invited guests gathering in jubilation to mark the beginning of a healthier, more active school life.

A gift that will be used and enjoyed every day, built on the philosophy that lies at the heart of The Family Chemist’s growing mission.

This donation from The Family Chemist’s wider commitment to community wellbeing, through expanding services and meaningful local initiatives.

With its own dedicated track, Jesse Gray Primary School is now better equipped than ever to inspire a generation to get up and get moving.
