Well it’s been almost a year since we took over here at the CORE Centre Charity! There have been many challenges – no funding, lease ending on our old building and moving to new premises and obviously Covid hasn’t made it easy. But we’re still here and loving every minute!
Times have been particularly tough regarding funding this year as there are so many Charities needing help, but we are fortunate to have secured some short-term funding from The National Lottery. This will allow us to continue to provide the services we currently offer but also to start some exciting new projects. However – we have one small problem that we need your help with!!
We have an amazing team of volunteers but we desperately need more!! If we don’t have the support of the local communities, then it will become increasingly difficult to move forward with the Charity.
Why not have a look through the roles below and see if you could help?
• Travel Clinics – many people are struggling with the ever changing rules on travel. Maybe you still take regular trips and could offer help/advice?
• Befriending/Coffee Morning – If you’re friendly and can make a good cuppa (possibly play cards/dominoes or pool) then you’ll be perfect!
• Blood pressure and Weight Clinic – lots of GP’s now request patients to take their own BP and weight, we would like to offer this to the local community (Full training provided)
• Ad hock volunteer group – this group is for those who can’t commit to a regular day or time but may be able to help us out when they can. Distributing posters/reception cover /posting leaflets/help people to fill out forms. We simply send a message or call you (whatever you prefer) there’s no pressure, if you can help then fab, but if not – no worries!!!
• Packing away and tea duties – Tues and Thurs afternoons – ability to help carry light tables and chairs needed
