The 7th Beeston Film Festival is back for 2021

10/03/2021 by Digital Media

The biggest international short film festival in the Midlands is back.

Beeston Film Festival takes place over seven days with more than 140 from 30 countries around the world. It offers something for everyone with films ranging from Horror, Comedy, Non-Fiction, Animation to Drama. The festival also includes films that aim to make the world a better place with films that celebrate Pride and Women’s Voices.

Now in its seventh year, the festival is taking place online this year offering a beautifully curated line up of truly creative film-making. Last year’s festival was watched online by 10,0000 film fans spanning over 80 countries. This year promises to be even bigger with over 600 submissions to the event. The global submissions are chosen by a team of local Nottingham/Beeston film fans to make a truly unique line up.

It also gives viewers the chance to spot future famous filmmakers and talented actors. Can you spot the next JJ Abrams or Greta Gerwig?

John Currie is the Beeston Film Festival Director says that this year’s festival will delight and amaze. “Turn off Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO, IPlayer for a week and spend the time watching an amazing international collection of short films.

“This year’s festival offers a host of stars including Vicki McClure, Dame Maureen Lipman and Helen Lederer. 140 films from over 30 countries and new this year a dedicated section called, Pride, to offer a platform for films from the LGTBQ+ community.  There is something for everyone with Drama, Horror, Animation, Comedy, Non-Fiction, Science Fiction sessions and so much more. We would very much welcome the opportunity to talk to you and share our vision and ambitions for the festival…”
