Nottingham Clean Champions – Clifton East & West rounded off an effective 2024 with more volunteers joining teams throughout the year.
As of the 7th December, a total of 1,583 bags had been collected including 159 bags from the Wilford team.
Some of the areas covered included: Wilford, Silverdale, Barton Green, Clifton Village, Nobel Road Community, The Grove Community, woods, and river paths, Summerwood Lane, Rivergreen, Gardendale, A453 Clifton, Clifton Lane, Farnborough and Varney Rd, Southchurch Drive and Highbank to name a few!
Whilst, irresponsible cyclists, drivers and vehicle passengers and pedestrians persist in littering, dedicated volunteers are undeterred and continue to go out when they can, weekly, monthly, in teams or on their own; it all helps.
Our business partners A453 McDonald’s, KFC and Tesco Express, Nottingham Trent University and most recently Lark Hill Retirement Village support the cause. They continue to help, with keeping where they are based litter free and they sponsor the monthly events, by hosting; providing a place for us to meet after our monthly event for a chat and refreshments.
And it’s great to note that our local Councillors also join the teams when they are free.
A huge thank you to volunteers, local councillors and businesses; a much-appreciated team effort!
Join us in 2025; do as much as you can, when you can!
Litter picking is sociable, very satisfying; keeps your body and mind active!
