The Coco Collective is a local wellness business founded by Sally Carter, who began learning to teach yoga when she realised its healing and restorative benefits. As Sally said: “Yoga for me has always been a means of finding headspace and balance within the day-to-day juggles of work-life and being a mum. It helped me to find ways to de-stress, stay active and have fun along the way.
“One of the reasons that we set up The Coco Collective was to create accessible wellbeing experiences for our local community. Our business is firmly grounded in community connection along with our mission to LIVE LIFE WELL. So, it is amazing to announce the Coco X Sweaty Betty collaboration which is offering a series of 10 free yoga and pilates classes this summer.”
The classes will be taught outside in the park and are suitable for all ages and abilities as poses can be adapted for different levels. As Sally goes on to explain: “All you need to participate is some comfortable stretchy clothing, a mat and some water. We also often go for take-out coffee after the sessions if you fancy hanging out after class.”
Coco is an independently founded collective that celebrates creativity, connection and wellbeing. It works with carefully selected experts and local teachers to provide a wealth of knowledge in physical and emotional wellbeing. It was founded by sisters Sally & Kat in 2017 with the aim of connecting people to the practices and tools necessary to live a well and balanced life.
As Sally concludes: “Being asked to partner with Sweaty Betty is a huge deal for The Coco Collective as we love the brand and what it stands for and we have many shared values, female empowerment, promoting the joy of physical exercise and emotional wellbeing.”
Kat Joynes, Sweaty Betty Nottingham store manager said: “We chose to work with The Coco Collective as the brand has an established presence locally and a loyal following. We really do share the same values. Being able to offer these free wellbeing sessions in Nottingham is an important part of our ethos, where we make exercise accessible and create social events for the local community to come together and focus on their wellbeing in the great outdoors.”
Anyone over 18 is welcome to sign up for the sessions, but if you have not exercised for a while, it would be worth checking with your GP that you are good to go. For more information on The Coco Collective please visit The Coco Collective or find via Instagram @CocoFlowYoga
