Sewa Day and West Bridgford Community Helpers launch shoebox gift appeal

19/11/2020 by Digital Media

Following the success of their children’s craft packs in the summer, a group of local community helpers are now beginning to turn their attention to Christmas.

The same team of volunteers from Sewa Day and West Bridgford Community Helpers are hoping to make and distribute at least 250 shoe boxes full of gifts to show the most vulnerable members of our community (including people who are homeless, teenagers and children who are supported by local food banks) that we care.

It will be great if the community can help. Even if everyone gave just one item, collectively it would make such a difference!

If you are able to donate a shoe box and fill it with any of the following kinds of items, they would be extremely grateful. Please note the items must be new, due to Covid-19 restrictions. The group will then sort through the gifts and redistribute or add items as required.

Items they are collecting include:
Nice toiletries & soaps
Make up
Jewellery
Scarves
Candles
Socks
Gloves
Clothes
Books
Toys & games
Hot chocolate sachets
Chocolate treats
Hot water bottles

They are happy to collect items and shoe boxes from your doorstep or you can drop them off in Gamston or Edwalton Park when you are ready! Thank you for your support.
