After 45 years of inspiring generations of dancers in West Bridgford, Sandra Taylor, founder of the Sandra Taylor School of Dance (STSD), is retiring.
Sandra opened the school in 1980, drawing on her love of dance and teaching.
From its first classes at local venues, STSD has grown into a vibrant community, showcasing students in major Nottingham theatres and even at the Royal Opera House. Many pupils have gone on to perform professionally, a legacy that reflects Sandra’s passion and dedication.
Sandra has nurtured and developed thousands of young dancers, and her warmth, creativity, and high standards have left an indelible mark on the local community.
As Sandra steps back, the school looks forward to an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Olivia Paige Jones. A professionally trained and IDTA-qualified teacher, Olivia is a graduate of Performers College with extensive experience in dance and musical theatre. She has taught across Nottinghamshire and performed internationally, bringing energy and expertise to every class.
Olivia’s connection to STSD runs deep, from having attended Sandra’s dance classes at the age 3 to 18, to then returning to teach after her professional training.
Now, as Principal, Olivia is committed to continuing Sandra’s legacy while inspiring the next generation with her own fresh vision and creativity.
The West Bridgford community celebrates Sandra’s incredible contribution and warmly welcomes Olivia as she leads STSD into its future.
