Runner completed half marathon… in back garden!

06/04/2020 by Digital Media

Notts local, Darlington Magela has incredibly completed a half marathon using only his driveway and back garden as part of the Brooks #runhappyathome Challenge on Instagram.

Darlington, who is part of the Brooks Run Happy Team, ran the 21.11km in just over 4.5 hours, running continuous loops from his driveway to the back of his garden. The #runhappyathome Challenge is aiming to inspire others to stay active even when running normal routes is not possible during this tough time. Visit the post on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/B-ZnR37nJGT/

Whether at the home office, running up and down stairs, playing catch games with the children in the house or fitness exercises in the living room – the possibilities are unlimited. “In times like these, we have to move together much more virtually than ever before and motivate and support each other. Our thoughts are currently with all those affected personally and the medical professionals who are committed to treatments,” emphasizes CEO Jim Weber.

Members of the Brooks Run Happy Team, have taken up a number of challenges inside, including members James Dunn and Eric Keeler – who have created the ‘Staircase Summit Challenge’.

The duo encouraged people to climb up Snowdon via their staircase as part of the #runhappyathome Challenge, which included Tom, who completed the Three Peak Challenge using only his stairs! Visit: https://www.instagram.com/p/B-cJ98cnm75/

The Brooks Run Happy team is made up of 225 inspiring runners from across Europe, each with his or her own unique story. Each member spreads the #RunHappy vibe throughout the running community, motivating others to run their path to a better self. For more information on the Run Happy Team please visit: https://www.brooksrunning.com/en_gb/run-happy-team/
