At the start of the summer term, Robert Miles Junior School welcomed a new Headteacher, James Evelyn.
James has recently moved to the area having been a Headteacher for the previous four and a half years at a primary school in north London.
He is originally from the south west of England and completed his teacher training in Bath before moving to London where he taught in Hackney, Tottenham and Leyton.
A large amount of James’ teaching career has been spent working for the Ark Schools network where he led primary maths across all schools for four and a half years and served as Headteacher of Ark Atwood Primary Academy for the same period of time.
James explained: “I have very much enjoyed my first couple of weeks at Robert Miles Junior School. It has been lovely getting to know the school community – everyone has been extremely friendly and supportive and I am very keen to work with all of them and build on the great work of my predecessor, Rob Gilbey.”
Rob Gilbey was Headteacher at Robert Miles for twenty years and was given a huge send off at the end of the spring term with thanks for his enormous contribution to the school.
