The items on sale include NCT branded face coverings, NCT themed Christmas wrapping paper and Buster’s Book of Short Stories and Poems, written by NCT customers during the first national lockdown earlier this year.
Available to buy at www.nctx.co.uk, the profits from the sale of all these items are being donated to support patients and NHS staff at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
With face coverings required in most indoor settings, including on public transport, these reusable face coverings feature an exclusive NCT branded design and are a triple layer construction and lightweight with elasticity to fit a range of face sizes.
Buster’s Book of Short Stories and Poems has been compiled from stories and poems received from customers. Stories and poems were invited in different categories, each with a slightly different theme. Younger children were asked to write a short story about a bus journey to somewhere magical or seeing a mythical animal through the bus window. Teenagers were asked to write a short adventure story that included a bus journey and adults were asked to write a short story or poem about meeting their idol on a bus journey.
Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT Marketing Manager said, “2020 has been a difficult and challenging year for so many people and NCT are keen to support our local community by raising money for Nottingham Hospitals Charity and the great work they do for their patients and staff.”
Marianne Burchell, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We are so touched that Nottingham City Transport is choosing to support Nottingham Hospitals Charity in this way. We know it’s been a hard year for many, but marking this time with the mask, and book of short stories and poems creates a positive legacy of lockdown. Care carries on at our hospitals throughout the Christmas period, for our most vulnerable and lonely patients, whether young or old. But COVID has made it even harder, so this year the support of Nottingham City Transport is more important than ever. Thank you so much for your kind support.”
