Year 6 pupils at Cotgrave’s Candleby Lane School were asked by Karen Alexander (Store Manager of Well Pharmacy) to help them promote a new travel clinic which will be arriving in the Pharmacy soon.
Karen explained: “Scott our pharmacist has undergone many hours of training to enable this private service to be available to all communities in and around the area, saving a visit into Nottingham and will provide individuals with up to date travel requirements as well as expert advice.
“We felt that with more and more exotic destinations being accessible a travel clinic would be a valuable addition to our manyservices.”
The local pupils were asked ifthey could design some posters to promote travel health. The topic could be anything from being safe in the sun, holiday hygiene, vaccinations, malaria and jet lag.
The children produced some amazing posters which the branch displayed in their store windows.Branch dispensers Sian Smith and Nicola Trueman chose the winning posters.
The winner and runner up were chosen each to receive a small prize which was presented by Karen and branch pharmacist Scott Sheehan.
The first prize went to Chloe Lynn and Sylvie Stannard from Class 6LM, who designed a poster together on ‘Sun Safety’.
The runner up prize went to Evie McDonald from class 6MCS, who designed a poster on Rabies.
The pharmacy are hoping to open their Travel Clinic in mid July.
