Proms in the Park returns, with Starstruck Majesty Queen Finalist!

10/06/2022 by Digital Media

This year’s Proms in the Park event takes place on Saturday 25th June  with music fans set to descend on Bridgford Park in West Bridgford for the annual celebration in conjunction with the national Armed Forces Day.

From 12.30pm to 9pm, Rushcliffe Borough Council will welcome a diverse range of local groups through to national artists entertaining event goers with an array of musical talent to the free event with no tickets or booking required.

It will be headlined by ITV1’s Starstruck hero Queen tribute act Majesty whose front man Rob Lea was recently a finalist on the primetime show.

The event coincides with the national day as the Council highlights local Armed Forces at the event and representatives from the Royal British Legion and local sports clubs and partners are set to attend.

Refreshments will be available including hot and cold drinks, a licensed bar, ice cream, popcorn, slushies and a BBQ provided by Harrington’s Fine Foods.

The stage programme, subject to change, is as follows:

• 12.30pm-2pm: Nottingham Concert Band

• 2.30pm-3.15pm: Tuneless Choir

• 3.30pm-4pm: Music For Everyone, Nottingham Youth Band

• 4.30pm-5pm: Liberty Singers

• 5.15pm-5.45pm: Rock Choir

• 6pm-7pm: Abi and The Tasty Mooresels acapella 1940s singing group

• 7.45pm-9pm: Queen tribute show Majesty and Starstruck hero front man Rob Lea

The Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change Cllr Abby Brennan said: “In line with our Armed Forces Community Covenant, we are again proud to be showcasing the free Proms in the Park, our ever-popular celebration of our local Armed Forces and some wonderful music!

“We know Rushcliffe people love to attend this popular event in their droves and we’re pleased it is again in partnership with Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, this year’s official charity.

“With such a great line up of local and national acts throughout the day and evening, including a timely Jubilee related act in Majesty, this year promises to be another great event! Don’t miss it!”
